What exactly are you trying to achieve?
The linked article uses the Windows bootloader to chainload a copy of GRUB stored on your Windows partition, rather than in the MBR. If you're trying to get something with a locked down bootloader to load Linux, then you may well find you're restricted from editing the BCD store too.
If GRUB is broken on your system, this won't help.
