I'm not sure if I did this right or have the correct file. I downloaded Memtest86+ V4.00 (22/09/2009) Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip). I formatted a CD-RW with nero IN CD. I then extracted the ISO from the zip, loaded it into daemon tools and saw 'BOOT' folder. In the boot folder is 'BOOT.CAT' and 'MEMTEST.IMG'. I copied those 2 files to my formatted CD-RW. I then went into bios to boot from CD. When the pc restarted it said "Boot from CD..." waited a few seconds, and then just proceeded to laod wondows normally. Have I got the right files?

You want to burn the iso directly to the CD, not as a file but through the burning softwares options, should have "burn image" or somesuch...
If nero cant do this search for "free iso burning software", theres a few freeware/shareware programs that can do it.

Yeah. Before I saw your post, I just did nero recorder/burn image, and selected the ISO. Turns out it needed the actual 'BOOT' folder, not just the 2 files inside it. That worked. I'm assuming then that doing it my other way (mounting in daemon and dragging files across onto disc) would have worked had I dragged the whole 'BOOT' folder and not just the files. Which in fact, I'm testing now for posterity. Thanks anyway. ;)

Tested: even though I dragged boot folder and files from daemon tools onto disc with incd, it doesn't work. Definitely needs to be burnt with nero to work.
