My parents computer has just started to not post when switched on. It loads up to the XP logo and then crashes and does constant reboot ect.
Now i innitially thought it was the Hd that has broke or the windows files being corrupted so was gonna just do a reinstall of windows, however i've tried the HD on my ocmputer and it boots fine, also when trying to boot from the cd drive to do the reinstall i kept getting disk read error?
Now i've tried different sata cables also different sats ports? Anyone got any other ideas, cause i'm thinking the mobo may have broken.
If so will i be able to just just the current windows on the HD with a new mobo. I'm more aksing if its possible rather than if its recommended, as i know i should start from scratch but not my machine and can't be bothered to load everything from scratch.
