Random question....

My USB pen drive thing has broken, i cant find the spare i had i CBA to buy a new one to do a bios update...

What i do have is a USB card reader and a 1gb compact flash card from an old camera...

I formatted it as FAT, will that work, i cant see why not... ? :D

To install from?

A live installation of Windows 7 won't fit in 1gig and even if it did booting from an old CF card would take forever... probably in the region of 10-20 minutes.

No sorry its to do a BIOS flash 4mb file.

All i need to know is the likely hood that it will be recognized as a valid USB device.

As long as it's formatted as fat32 I can't see why not. I use a usb sdhc adapter on the ps3 sometimes if the pen drives wander off, it works fine.

It should read it no problem.
