Hi all,

All my current pc's have Vista on them but my Digital camera does not support it so i am needing an install of windows xp, I have a retail version of windows xp pro but don't really want to dual boot the os, What would be the best way for me to boot into an install of xp without installing it on my laptop?

I have either an 8gb USB drive or i can write it to a blank dvd?

Thanks

You might be able to run a copy of ubuntu on the memory stick, would be much better than running XP.. As long as your camera is supported...

Try downloading it and burning to DVD, you can give it a try without installing, nothing lost.

Download something like virtualbox, its only something I started trying (after reading about it here) as it will let you create a virtual pc running xp and it supports USB devices. My scanner wasnt supported by Vista so I scan to a virtual pc and then transfer the files from guest to host pc.
Can't you just buy a memory card reader for the camera's SD card? I would say Vista should have no problems with reading your memory card. Or does camera have built in storage?
