Hey all, my Windows XP partition went totaly corrupted on me, and I can no longer get into the dual boot menu screen, my Vista partition is absolutely fine as far as I know/as far as I can tell, but even when I put in the Windows XP CD it says the disc is initialising/loading but then the "bootmanager not found" error appears and i'm stuck all over again :( any help would be greatly appreciated, I have floppy discs aswell if that can help rebuild the dual boot menu/the boot manager, or even just anyway I can get the Windows XP CD to load so I can reinstall it would be great, Many Thanks to whoever can help :) :p

The only one I found requires you to actually boot into an OS and be on the desktop etc, it was called Vista boot manager pro, so if you mean something else i'd greatly appreciate it if you can link me to it, if not, then thanks for helping anyway :) :p

Hey AssaTM, when you say your Windows XP partition is corrupted, are you basing that on the fact that you are unable to bring up the dual boot menu? :)

If you boot from the Vista DVD and on the screen where you're prompted to "Install now", select "Repair your computer". The next screen searches for local Vista installations – there should only be one, so click next. This loads the System Recovery Options screen. Select the first option – Start-up Repair. This looks for problems which would prevent Vista from loading (like a missing bootloader) and automatically fixes them. Click Close and then Finish and the system will restart and boot into Vista.

After you are in Windows Vista, download and install Download and install EasyBCD . Launch the app and go to Add/Remove Entries. Now if Windows XP is already in "Manage Exsiting Entries" box, remove it and then re-add XP. (Make sure you select the right drive that XP is installed on) :)

Hey, thanks for the help, and i'm basing it off that the Windows XP partition has been giving me problems for a long time now, and then it just crashed on me and started not detecting my Graphics Card etc, whereas the Vista one was fine, but i'm a bit worried that it says it cant find the bootmgr, as that is a Vista file/file system, but theres no reason why it would have touched the Vista partition, as it was due to errors on the C: that it kept crashing in the first place, at least, I hope it hasnt touched the Vista partition anyway haha, but Many Thanks for the help anyway :D :p
