Hi all,

Common problem this and it doesn't happen that much but when it does it is a REAL pain. Does anybody know *why* it goes missing, I mean I know that software/hardware installs can cause it sometimes but it just makes no sense. Any idea of it is fixed in W7?

Cheers

well I am not sure how it occurs...but I have the problem on my new computer that i built...I am not sure whether its a hardware thing? I have an ide cable going from cd to hard drive...but i dont know whats going on really.

I try and boot my copy of windows xp and i get that message BOOTMGR is missing...I try and change the bios settings to boot from cd but the arrow keys cease working on that screen! how annoying is that. Is it a problem with the way i hooked up the ide cables?/ should cds and hdd be hooked up together?
