bootmgr is missing

but hold on i haven't even installed vista yet

how do i get over this message i have a formatted disk which i was about to install vista on when i quit the install after i wanted to double check the partitions before i installed but after i restart again i keep getting the message "bootmgr is missing" any ideas

Select to boot from your cd/dvd instead of your hard drive.

The reason you are getting your message now is because you have created the hard drive and formated thus its trying to boot from the hd whereas the first time your drive was blank so it skipped and went through the boot order till it found a bootable disc.
