I’ve been trying to install w7 on a new SSD and did kind of succeed. However while doing some updates something went wrong and I think it corrupted windows. No problem I thought, I’ll format the drive and install again.

I reformatted the SDD and now get as far as ‘hit any key to boot from cd/dvd which I do but this is immediately followed by BootMGR is missing Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart error

I’ve looked on the web for solutions but as far as I can see you normally get this problem when trying to boot-up from a hdd not a cd/dvd.

Anyone got any ideas, I’m rather stuck.

I've unplugged all the other disks and I'm trying to boot from the windows disk itself. As soon as I hit a key for 'Press any key to boot from CD or DVD' the BootMGR is missing Press CTRL+ALT+DEL error arisesand can't get any further to boot from the disk.

hmm only taken me all day but I've solved it.

Reconnected my old drive and started windows, plugged the in the sdd and reformatted it again.

Seems to have done the trick w7 is installing :)
