When I turn on the PC (Vista 64) I get the following DOS error ‘BOOTMGR’. However, if I put the Vista DVD into the drive I get the normal ‘press any key to install Windows’, if I press nothing Vista loads perfectly! Re-start with the disc out and I get ‘BOOTMGR’ error…

I’ve booted from the disc and ‘fixed’, load up issues, still the same problem!

Can anyone help?

Cheers

Not sure if you can do this on Vista, but if you can get into the Recovery Console using the CD on XP, typing 'fixboot /mbr' without quotes will fix it on a XP machine. Dont know if it applies to Vista though.

I'll give it a go, i can actually boot into Vista (and it works normally), i just need to the Vista Disk in the DVD (don't need to press any keys, just have it in there...)

Cheers
