Does anyone here work for Boots?

I was in the process of deciding what to buy for my next car however I have applied for a job with Boots and was told at the interview that if I am successful I will get given a car on a need basis as I will be doing greater than 10k miles. I have also been told there is no cash allowance option.

Does anyone have experience of what sort of car this is likely to be and whether the above sounds right please, as it will affect my negotiation on the role and what cars I research into!

If they come back with an offer, just ask what the car is. They'll typically just give you a size but you should be able to get some examples of specific cars on their list.

I get an allowance with my current role and run my own car which I was planning to upgrade in June/July to something like an XF or F10 5 series. If I do get given a car I am guessing it won't be great, so may end up changing my Fiancée's car instead that we can use in the evening / weekend.

I currently have images of being stuck driving round in a base spec diesel Insignia all weekend!

I guess it would depend on your grade. At our place its one car for Managers (Audi A4 type car) to virtually whatever the Partner wants.

There could also be the option to contribute towards the car yourself if you wanted something else?

I don't think there is any choice in car from what little information I could gain at the interview.
