I love coffee, I love Kahlua. I dislike paying 22 a litre for a bottle.
Have been making my own Kahlua substitute for some time. It's simple and tastes great. The key is good ingredients. Don't use cheap vodka or cheap coffee! Here's my recipe makes approx 2.5l
750ml vodka. I use stoli
8 cups brewed coffee
16tbsp coarse ground coffee beans
500g brown soft sugar
4tbsp vanilla extract
1. Brew your coffee. I use a French press
2. Disolve sugar in coffee
3. Wait until cool. Add vodka and vanilla.
4. Filter and bottle
5. Enjoy over ice, in a white Russian or an espresso martini
