I know it's probably the first thing you've tried but I used to get that error on some games, and deleting clientregistry.blob usually helped. It should be in the main steam folder, if you can't find it, try a search from the Windows start menu for it.

Tried that before.... I have just deleted the borderlands folder in Steam, re-downloading it, hope that fixes it...

I usually get that when the servers are overloaded, do you generally try to play it at the same time everyday?

ive had this with many games, checking the integrity of local files has always fixed it for me :cool:

Haven't had that happen in a while, iirc changing your download region in the Steam settings usually cleared it up.

I've had that problem with a number of games and it seems to stop auto updating some titles - check the settings and tell it to keep the title up to date - shade quicker than redownloading the whole thing
