Borderlands 2 save file?

I just reinstalled win 7 and now borderlands 2 wont recognize my old save file of 50+ hours gameplay.I put it in the my documents/game saves/borderlands 2 (i copied everything from that folder before the format) but when i boot b2 it only has option for new game.Please,has anyone got any ideas as i dont wanna start again with hitman and a huge backlog just around the corner

Sorry,Dave you were spot on.I was copying the whole borderlands 2 folder instead of putting contents into the numbered one.Thank you very much
