Borderlands 2 Saves Question

I picked this up a couple of weeks ago and finally got round to playing it yesterday. I had just reached boss Flynt and as my dinner was ready I thought I'd save & quit and kill him later. Just started the game again and I'm back at Sir Hammerlocks base and all the mobs are back again. I really don't feel like going all the way back through all the mobs to get to where I was. Have my saves screwed up somewhere?

I had the same issue, you need to complete the quest to save & start where you left off.

Saves return you to zone area checkpoint. And mobs always respawn, including bosses which people farm.

Yup, as above! Whole sections need to be completed in one sitting. Think of it as free experience
