New to this game and just purchased it with a friend to play though, it also came with teh expansion packs, my question is how exactly do are you expected to play through this game, is the a certain level that you should aim to play the expasions at or... ?

just want to get the best experiance from the game really, rather than begin playing the expasions at teh wrong moment and find them either impossible or far to easy.

Just pop into the expansions and grab the first quests, you'll get an idea of their difficulty then.

Iirc I did the DLC in order after completing the main game on PR1, and it didn't feel particuarly too hard/easy at any point. :)

If I remember right the DLC missions scale with level, but it'll probably be more fun if you progress through the game a bit and get some reasonable guns.

The expansions scale to your level, kind of. However, if you play them before finishing the main quest playthrough, you might be overlevelled for the main quest and find it pretty easy and boring.

Some of the expansions have a story that follows the main quest too.

Recommended Order for story purposes:
Borderlands Main Quest, complete playthrough 1
General Knoxx
Claptrap Revolution

You can play the Zombie and Mad Moxxie ones at any time. The Zombie story is standalone, and Mad Moxxie doesn't have a story.

I'd recommend starting up mad moxxie fairly early, just to get access to the inventory bank.

would you mind me asking what the inventory bank is ?

Either way thats great.. my plan is to start the mad moxxie after a couple of hours of play, the rest ill leave until ive played through once ..

Whats with teh playthough 1 , 2 etc?

playthrough2 = Newgame+ with the weapons you had at the end of the first playthrough. You don't reach max level without doing this.
