Borderlands locking up my pc

hi all,

i've had a search and can't find anything on this, but playing borderlands is a mixed bag for me.

so far it's crashed about 15/16 times for me, i found a couple of places ( looking at/in certain gun boxes/toilets) cause my pc to lock up. now, i've got 1 mission left to do in the arid desert(name?) area, when i go to do this mission, i can slay the few guys you fight in the 1st part of the mine, but when i move between the 2 buildings just infront of the gate it locks up.

getting really annoyed with this now

anyone know of a fix?

my pc is 24 hours prime stable btw

also, i noticed this game takes the VRMs on my gpus up to 105oC - no other game has ever done this....

Some people have been reporting random lock up while playing the game on the gearbox forum, hopefully they're looking into it

thats positive news, at least its more widespread that i expected, although i have read about the game locking up in roughly 20 mins for some people; mine doesn't seem to be following that pattern, as i can play it for hours sometimes without a hitch, then suddenly looking at a crate in some parts will cause locks. once i've figured out which parts are causing the lockups i steer clear; but this current one is stopping me from progressing and is really annnoying!
