Borderlands ( single player question)

Was just wondering if this game is ok to play on your own ?
i sort of get the impression its more of a co-op game ?

is it an RPG ?

the only RPG game i liked was fallout3, am i likely to get on with this game ?

its only going on my rental list so no big loss if i dislike it really.

For rental.. Just get it and see. Some people love it others hate it!

just watched a video of it.
looked quite good really.

looks more like a first person shooter than an rpg though.
