I kinda regret getting rid of my 980Ti because it looked pretty and I enjoyed bragging to my mates
but I never used it.. I went to a set of 7970's which are great, i'm really impressed for cards of this age and they hold their own well buttt i'm bored.. Already..
I said to myself these will do until Pascal next year but I'm already getting the upgrade itch, god I hate my impatience, soooo... I'm thinking of staying AMD but getting either a Nano or the Fury X and putting a block on it.
I'm glad to say that I don't have either a Gsync or Freesync monitor so i'm not fussed over getting another 980Ti or a Fury X. Looking at the prices of second hand 980Ti's i'm thinking this will be a better way to go but I would like to try the small cards.
I only game at 1080p 144hz. I would like to do the jump to 1440p but I can't bring myself to spend £600 a monitor! I did go 4K but my wallet cried then I bought a 980Ti and then went back to 1080p.
Looking at benchmarks between the two (Fury X and 980Ti) the Fury X only seems to pull ahead at 4k and they seem to be on par at 1440p but the 980Ti seems to be all over the Fury X at 1080p..
I rarely game due to not having the time at the moment but when I do I like it to just work and have all the pretties turned up, hence why I want a single card, crossfire is a PITA.
Oh and a card that is easy to get a block for.. Something reference PCB.
