I've had my Macbook Pro for about 6 months now and have never had any incling of wanting to install windows on it or use any Windows applications, its great.... Apart from one thing

On my Windows machine when I was bored I used to spend ages cleaning it up, getting it to look cool and install stuff and get it to talk to other programs, but with my mac I can't :( Whenever I install stuff it already looks nice and everything else I install works straight away.

I need some ideas of stuff to install so far I have these applications

GROWL
MenuMeters
SoundStream Screensaver
OS X Planet
Grand Perspective
VMWare Fusion
Quicksilver

as well as many other applications

However this all works and has no tweaking to be done to it, I need to get my hands dirty or I may have to go and set up a Linux install :(

Oh, and it has to be free

Stick Ubuntu on it! I just did yesterday and am having great fun tinkering - everything can be changed!

Grab yourself some apps and enjoy. Just think, as you are reading this some poor unsuspecting soul has just had to format and reinstall Windows because it has gone squiffy again. :)
You're enough to make a fellow mac user gag. :p

And they wonder what perpetuates the Mac vs Windows arguments.

I think it's pretty obvious what I'm on about.

I'm not trolling. I just don't see how your little comments help either group of users.

I agree with you. :)

I've not had to reinstall windows xp pro on my pc for over 3 years and its still running like a charm.

Every OS can be tinkered with, that’s what’s fun about them.

You two can share the taxi fare.

^ Agree. This is the Mac / Linux forum, Windows users shouldn't wander in and take offense because someone said "winblows". Especially if they aren't going to contribute.

Can I get an education discount? ;)

It's hard not to react when you see some of the completely unfounded and over exaggerated tripe posted. In particular from AJUK.

For the record I don't particularly take offence if there is a valid proven point. Most of the time its just fan boy's throwing words that hold no water.

Macs and viri would be a good example of a proven point.

I use OS X, Linux and windows on a daily bases and can evaluate each system on its own merits.

Anyway, I'm diluting the thread. :)

Exactly what did I post that you think is unfounded and tripe?

I am waiting patiently for you to educate me.

In fairness you started the problems in this thread by using the childish term 'winblows', as well as unfounded slagging off of Windows in the same post :)
