The much vaunted so called game of the year has sadly, in my eyes, not lived up to expectations. I'm bored. Is it just me or are the handful of maps just not enough, there isn't enough variation. Will there be or is there custom maps which can be played or are the ones available "it"?

Are there any planned updates to increase variation in the online section or will we be forever doomed to repeat the same missions again and again.

Don't get me wrong, it is a great game but there's just not enough there to keep me interested, even the single player was dreadfully short, possibly the shortest game, bar portal, that I've played in a long time.

theres loads of maps...

i dont blame you for getting bored if you dont play competively.

join and clan and get involved in some wars.

hopefully they'll be an expansion out sooner and they'll realise that bigger maps are needed!

All the user made maps i've played so far seem dreadfully amaturish compared to the official maps, although i must admit that i've seen some good looking screenshots of some custom maps.

Got bored of Public mode after a few days, started on hardcore then moved to normal mode and finally play a lot of PCW/Scrim/Matches :)

But tbh, i find no satisfaction in winning a round say killing all 5 enemies :s

The game was not made for competitive play, here are some reasons why:

Headshots are not possible unless you shoot the head twice or wound them elsewhere.
Spray has basically been introduced with the lack of 'accurate' headshots.
Grenades are mini nukes, A Bomb @ Vacant is so prone to nades it's unbelievable.
The majority of the maps are seriously unbalanced, one team can nade the others spawn with ease etc.
Its too slow - The switching of weapons, the throwing of nades, the delay with sprint/redraw weapon is dire.
The maps are cluttered with **** to be perfectly honest.

I find myself playing a lot more CoD2 these days simply because the game has more 'skill'

But thats just my opinion :)

I loved it at first, i suppose everyone did/still does but for me... It's a poor game.

Was there ever a reason for not introducing prestige mode for the PC version? That would have given it a good bit more life. I still find it fun though, I eagerly await the new official maps.

Well after reading this thread i went away and had a go at cod2 again...rifle only server (crox)...may not look as good but def a lot more fun and skill required. Ironic...get a decent card and end up playing a game that the old old old card could handle!!
