My other half will soon be needing a car. She is not a very confident driver and hasn’t driven for a while, so initially we were going to get some thing cheap and cheerful. This is usually fairly easy, however she can only drive automatic. An EV would be perfect for her needs, but they’re just too expensive, even used.

So we need something small, easy to drive/park, automatic, reliable and cheap. Budget will be around £2-3k. The VW up would have been perfect, but alas they’re only manual.

Help is appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yaris is probably a good shout.

She is planning on taking a refresher lesson or two to help her confidence.

The VW Up comes in an auto, although they are very rare. It is also the ASG which is a single clutch automated manual. In your price range I'd also recommend the Yaris or any other Japanese/South Korean equivalent.

There are few Skoda citigo auto. Have a look at them.

Had them for 2 weeks when my car went in for a new engine.

Absolutely loved the cigito
