Bose speaker packages

can someone tell me how Bose speakers plug into your amp? what connection do they use? I am thinking of getting a series 6 which is 5 cubes and the accoustimass. I currently have a surround sound Sony DAVs550 systems, and would like to know how/can I connect them to this?

My auntie and uncle have a setup like this, from what I can work out, each speaker plugs into the subwoofer (Passive) and then the cables go from the subwoofer to the amp, that way it allows for the lower frequencies that the speakers aren’t capable of producing to be played through the subwoofer.

The subwoofer also connects to the AV amp through the standard subwoofer connection as it still acts as an active sub.

Couldn't agree more, I forgot to mention it in my first post, but they really don't sound too good, if I was in the market for speakers of this size I would go for Kef eggs as they are quite a bit cheaper and I think they look better.

Despite my almost pathalogical love of Kef I honestly don't think the 'eggs' measure up to the Canton CD series and the pricing is about the same.

Don't buy! As other have said it's impressive in the shop but nothing else.

Nope, sorry, not even impressive in the shop. Heard one a few months back. No cohesion between the bass and the rest of the range (pretty much normal with most sub/sat systems), not that great detail and the depth of the bass was lacking. Apart from that, pretty underwhelming really.
