Both monitors keep going into power saving mode - hardware issue?

I was using one standard dell monitor and every so often it would go into power saving mode, my computer would still be running as I could hear the sound and my friends in on-line games said I was still connected to the server. I tried turning off all the power-saving options and any other control panel settings which could affect this.

I then plugged in my second monitor to see if it was a monitor issue but now I have both connected and they both have the same problem intermittently.

Recently it has been flicking on and off quickly for a while before it goes dead and into the power saving mode.

Does anyone know how to rectify this? I pretty sure it's not a monitor issue when I have tried two monitors and they both present the same issue.

Thanks in advance.
Sam.

Id say try updating your gfx drivers, if you havent already
Have come across this before but cant remember what it was that resolved but pretty sure its software related

My drivers are the latest, so I think I'll try rolling them back a couple of months and seeing if that helps.

whats the specs??

I had this problem when I stuck my 4850 into my old dell rig. Figured it was to do with the card not getting enough power because the power supply was 350w and I had a q6600 4gb of ram 2 hdd a dvd-rw and of course the graphics card. Put the card in my HTPC with similar specs but with a 450W power supply problem solved.

Either that or the graphics card is over heating
