Can anyone help with the installation of drivers for my DCP-J315W printer?

I have downloaded the full suite from the Brother website, extracted the files, clicked on the installation file DPInst.exe, accepted the "allow app to make changes" then nothing happens! I have added the printer in Windows and Windows has installed the printer driver and the printer works. I do not have the scanner or any Control Centre or Utilities app and my scanner says "not connected" when I press the key on the unit. I have neve used the scan key before and always just scanned from the PC software. Brother support says there is no Control Centre App for Windows 11 and I now need to use Microsoft Paint for Scanning. The "From Scanner or Camera" is not listed in the Paint file menu and there are no imaging devices listed in Device Manager, so I do not think the scanner is installed.

I have installed the Brother suite several times on Windows 10 with no problems so any help on how to proceed would be appreciated.

You need to install the scanner drivers: https://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadlist.aspx?c=as_ot&lang=en&prod=dcpj315w_eu_as&os=10068

Had to do that for a Brother printer at work, otherwise the Windows scan app will not pick it up.
Yes this was my first stop as noted above, however after downloading the drivers and following the instructioins the DPInst.exe file does nothing! I have tried this several times and get the same result. The instructions say that you do not get any dialogue boxes popping up to tell you what is happening when installing, so I have selected "allow appp to make changes, then left it for an hour or so, but it makes no difference. Did you have this issue?

An installer window actually popped up for me, something doesn't sound right if nothing pops up. However looking at the instructions for your model it may be different. Have you tried Brother's own scanning software? https://help.brother-usa.com/app/an...nstall-brother-iprint&scan---windows-computer

Have you tried installing it as though it was on a win10 machine or tried a model that is newer and has the same setup? I have a Canon scanner that has no drivers for win10/11 so have to use drivers for the next model up to get it working.
