I have a GA-Z68A-D3-B3 motherboard it offers dual channel

I have 2 4gb same make in the white slots and 1 8gb in the blue slot (different make)

My 2500k is overclocked to 5.1ghz air, ive noticed a low physics score considering i have a huge overclock.

Any ideas?

Whats the physics score and which version of 3d mark? In 11 and firestrike, i5's even with a high overclock will still score lower than an i7 even on a lower clockspeed. The extra threads on theese help a lot in physics and combined tests.

Crap i might of just realized something , dual channel on my board are the blue slots and i have them in the white , this might cause problems?

Doubt it!
Definately check the motherboard manual to make sure you are in the correct slots. Could be 1 and 3 or 1 and 2 that you want. Likely they are colour coded i.e. use both slots of same colour.

In my personal view, as I have been building gaming PCs since 2002 I don't think ram speed has a huge amount of impact on real world performance.
Does it matter? Yes absolutely, but in my experience it is usually the CPU, Graphics, Ram Size or Hard Drive causing the PC to feel slower.

From a quick look on the firestrike charts on here, a few 2500k entries from one user where the chip was clocked at 4.7/8ghz, physics of 7-8000.

Edit, and a 3dm11 run with a 2500k at 4.8ghz.

14141. 290 - GPU Score 17983 - Physics Score 8625 - CPU 2500K @ 4.8 - Lucky Conehead

So 6000 does seem a bit off.

Oh yer forgot to mention im experiencing some problems of shdow of mordor after installing the hd texture pack i know it needs 6gb of vram but i stutter very badly during cut scenes or battles , ill try changing the ram around.

Graphics card 390 stix

ive run in to another problem now, after switching ram to correct slots , the computer turns on then off immediately and it just keeps repeating itself ...

any ideas?

Now ive switched to dual channel , the computer wont start with the 3rd ram stick installed , it turns on for 1 second fan spins then goes off and it keeps repeating itself, when i take it out the computer starts as usual.

Odd but not unheard of. Might just be incompatible in that mode.

How have you overclocked to 5.1Ghz and not heard of XMP?

What are temps and volts like at 5.1Ghz? Are you thermal throttling causing the drop in scores?
