Bottleneck, your thoughts

ok think i need a new gpu to go with my e5300 @3.666 any ideas of the perfect fit (my old gpu is a 8800gts640) heres a picky to show what im taking about

cpu usage is only %70 in crisis. ( standard high settings no aa)

do you think an 4870 would be ok?

Dont need anything overkill or dx 11, thanks.

The reason i ask this is cause i can get a 4870 for £30 i just want the cpu to be at 100% in crisis

In Crysis you'll still be CPU limited to a certain degree as it depends on the scene.

Also you'll never really get to 100% cpu utilisation in Crysis as the game doesn't make full use of multiple cores, i.e. faster CPU speeds are more important.

A 4870 will handle Crysis at high settings perfectly fine, but may start to struggle at very high settings, depending on resolution. To play comfortably at very high settings, you really need a GTX285 or equivalent (not joking).

At that price I wouldn't worry about any CPU usage issues.

will post another screenie on the 4870 when i get it.

also i only play at 1280x1024 atm ( but high setting is good enough

Anybody that sells you a 4890 for £50 needs shooting. They seem to have disappeared from stores for now and I'd expect nearer £100.

On the bay you are looking at a minimum of £75 for a 4870 second hand so a 4890 will be around the £100 mark. This is going by completed sales by the way.

You're not going to get a 4890 for £50 for some time yet. Sold mine for 100 recently, no problems.

I bought mine around 6 months (prob longer) ago for less than a hundred quid or my head memory fails me again.
Anyway I just thought they would be around the 65 quid mark in our M&M, Apologys if I'm wrong.
I can say it's an Outstanding Budget option for a High powered card, Mines been sublime.
