Bottlenecking 290

Hi all,

Quick question - would an i5 3570k @ 4.2 bottleneck a Powercolor PCS+ 290 at all?

I wasn't overly impressed by the Heaven results on 'High' - 34fps min, 212 max and 113 average

Nope it would be fine. Quite a good match actually.
Hawaii doesn't seem to do so well on Heaven 4, don't worry about it.

Especially with Heaven as that's a more GPU heavy benchmark anyway.

Try 3dmark Firestrike and see what results you get on there compared to a 290 & 4770k as that tests both the CPU and GPU more evenly.

Your cpu wont bottleneck the gpu, their isn't a bottleneck with any i5 at stock speeds.

What resolution are you using for the Heaven benchmark?

The default settings when you load up Heaven - so whatever that setting is

No, my i5 3570k @ 4.4ghz currently only JUST holds back both of my 670's clocked to their teeth.
