I'm about to move my system into a coolermaster scout case which has the power supply at the bottom.

I'd like to know if its safe to have the power supply with its fan facing the bottom of the case? Or is it more optimal to have it "upside down"? I'm mainly concerned about the lifespan of the power supply.

I have my PSU with the fan facing up the ways in the Antec 300 although you can do it the other way around as well. Don't think it really matters that much.

^^ Hot air rises however, meaning the exhaust fan would expel the hot air.... Any hot air coming from the PSU exhaust is likely to be from the capacitors etc inside the actual PSU generating heat.

I have mine in my Scout with the fan mounted down. It will be fine if the case is mounted on a hard surface. If it's on a carpet though mount it with the fan facing up.
