Hi Guys,

Just bought a 360 last night and only had a chance to set it up this morning. Turned it on to get a Red light in the bottom right and a system error 'E 68' I checked the xbox support site and got the following

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917874/en-us

Anyone else get this? Anyone know what to do ? :( (tried disconnecting the hard drive and all the cables then putting them in again, but no luck.

I bought the warranty (luckily) so should I just give game a ring and have them deal with it?

Return it from where you got it from and get a new working one. Get them to exchange it as its a faulty 360.

try just taking the hard drive out and reinserting it, i would certainly take it back if it doesnt work after that

if it works after you have done that atleast you have saved the store and yourself a lot of hassle if it doesnt you've only lost a minute of your time

edit: guess i need to read the original message better....numpty :D

anyway i cant say i have had it happen to me, my 360 was faulty when i first got it though but that was something power relatd..seemed to sort itself out in the end

Thanks for the help guys. Took it back, replaced within minutes  now get started at Forza2 and The Darkness!

Just turn it off and on, I've had that error loads of times in the past (only once in the last 12 months though) and it goes after one restart. Dunno what it is, never bothered looking. Try booting without the HDD in.
