Thinking about returning it but before I do I'm looking for everyone's thoughts.
I had my Z490E onboard Realtek connected to my Teac A-H500i amp. Speakers are B&W D601 S2s. Then I thought I'd buy and use a DAC instead over the Realtek onboard and chose the Cyrus Soundkey.
I feel the Cyrus soundkey has a noticeable lack in base. Overall volume is slightly lower and it introduce more noise however this latter point is only noticabable at higher volumes. Without music playing, if I turn up the volume to max on the amp, the noise/hiss is noticeable with the Cyrus but the Realtek barely has any noise at max. Other than that I've not noticed any other differences and prefer the Realtek sound.
I can only conclude the onboard Realtek on motherboards these days have come a long way and in terms of components that will make the biggest difference will be the speakers and amp over a DAC?
Edit: Oh, I don't use headphones.
Thoughts?
