I rushed in and bought a E2200 without reading up on them first as ive been out the game for a while...

Seems id of been better with a E2140 but still.....

Any guides to over clocking them? Or peoples experiances?

Ive searched and not come up with a lot.

Thanks

/me is kicking his self for not reading

I don't know why you think you'd have been better off with an E2140. The E2200 is a better chip.
That and OcUK don't sell 2140s anymore :p

i just thought from reading that the e2180 and 2140 clock better......Might invest in some better and ram and see if i have more luck or if i just have a duff clocker....

Its on a P5w DH deluxe so should be ok on that board yes?

What overclock have you managed so far? e2200 doesn't really rely on faster ram to overclock because of its 11x multiplier so buying better ram might not make any difference

im only at 244 mhz mame and any more and i get locks.....temps are ok....Its been a long time since i overclocked though i have to add lol:D

well i lowered the ram settings i think and its at 260 and 2.865mhz but my board wont let me higher the cpu voltage as it says i need to disable something to do so......as i said rusty with overclocking!

Whats a safe voltage for all the options ? as i have loads of settings?

well i got the arctic cooling one and im still having trouble rasing the voltage as it says in the motherboard settings i need to disable C1E and EIST which i think ive done but i still cant adjust voltage....

Im currently at 2865 at 260 fsb with 1.28 volts memory at 1.8 pci at 1.5 and its running windows but its far from stable lol.

Im a great believer in breaking them in but its idling at 20 and the ambient temp in the room is 23 so not to bad.... dunno about load yet.......I reckon i could hit over 3ghz if i could just raise the voltage...

yeah i bet it does as well but i think the cpu needs more first as the ram still isnt clock over its speed according to the bios start up page

ps its still running although i still havnt loaded it as ive been busy

well its still going at the above under normal use gaming etc but i havnt proper loaded it yet as im busy!

I reckon its got a lot more to give if set up right.

If some one can tell me how to raise the voltage for the cpu as i posted above i would appreciate it and what sort of voltages i should set all the others at?

I'm planning on dropping an E2200 into an ASROCK DualVSTA mobo with 2gb of Geil PC2-5300C4 667MHz Value DDR2 and and Artic Freezer fan.

Do I stand much chance of a decent overclock or will I have to wait until I can afford a better mobo?

Cheers

Andy

increase vcore from 1.28 to ~1.3750

Make sure you have locked th PCI-E bus to 100mhz, or 101 if you prefer!

set the ram to 1:1 (might be called 2.00) for now while you find your max speed/fsb

yes all very well but how do i raise the cpu voltage as it says i need to disable EIST and C1E to do so in the voltage settings?? details in post above.
