Not too bad then. You'll have to be very careful matey, stack it into a dich / wall / another car and you've just lost yourself over £3k.

Nothing like driving about in your new car though, enjoy it & watch out for the roads atm, some of them are like glass.

ye it has been quite cold. car has the nice feature of the temp display and it warns you the road may be icy with a little symbol

o dear...

please please PLEASE can we not have this thread go the same way as all the other 'my first car' threads.

Its not any of our business how people arrange their insurance, its their risk, not ours.

ye i have seen some astras with it on. its an irmscher double oval backbox fits most vauxhalls
the exhaust does look good on your cosra, as it is in red.. but any colour oh, but black it looks carp

but as she owns the car then technically the insurance has to be in her name

but lets face it most young males wouldnt be able to afford to drive as the insurance is completely ridiculous

Insurance fraud is rather unsurprisingly frowned upon 'round these parts :)

Agreed.

I'll explain it:

If you're the main driver of the car, then it should be on your own policy, in your own name. Having parents as NAMED drivers is fine.

If the insurance company finds out about you being the main driver on someone else's policy when/if you crash, then you're screwed, and they might not pay out.

Done :)

No, if she's the main driver it has to be in her name. You're the main driver, so you're committing fraud :)

And when your insurance company finds out after you inevitably crash, you'll be up the proverbial creek without the proverbial paddle, so to speak—insurance companies aren't really fans of giving away free money and will try to avoid it however possible: by committing fraud you're just handing it to them on a plate.
