Ad per title I've just bought one paid slightly over the odds and it's from germany. What wire will I need to make it work in UK I dont want to use an adaptor.

Also have a made a mistake getting the LG over the
GIGABYTE AORUS FI27QP 27" 2560X1440 IPS

Has it arrived? Has it met your expectations?

Yeah its come all setup but not going to lie just not feeling it yet, coming from Asus pg278q (I scratched the screen moving it when decorating) dont feel like it much of a difference still tying to get the setting right atm but the colours dont look any better then my cheap 2nd monitor a benq GW2765

Don't thing you can tell much from IPS to IPS, I moved from TN to IPS and can tell its much better,s also feel smoother in games even both screens are 144hz.

Oh dear that's not what I wanted to hear! Mines due tomorrow to replace a 21" 60Hz Lg 1080p 2009 monitor that's served me well and is still working but I fancied something bigger and better with my old screen going to Zwift duties.

Turnkey you will see a difference anyhow going up in res to 1440p an from 60Hz. I have only gone from my main gaming screen TN to IPS plus just dont think the LG looks as good as my old Asus. Another thing I not a fan of is the screen not going all the way to edge on the LG

Well it arrived 10 minutes before I had to leave for work so I will have to wait until the morning to see how it performs.
Box looks intact so fingers crossed!

I bought one mainly through advice I found on here, and arrived today. Once you've fiddled with the settings etc (see thread https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/lg-27gl850-b-settings.18878404/) its fantastic!

I will use it for work (mainly) but also gaming and video editing. Tried it in DCS World, I can't believe I haven't moved to a 1440p monitor sooner, night and day compared to my previous 1080p setup.

Definitely recommend it.

Set it up this morning......
I'm not blown away in any way shape or form if I'm honest, makes me realize how good my old monitor was when I purchased that although I have to say the LG 27 is growing on me by the hour, I have also used some of the setting from @REITSY post and that has certainly helped.
Do I like it yes but I'm glad it was £414 and not £499, am I glad I bought it? I think so and time will tell, I think in a week or so I may well have changed to a more positive perspective may be sooner if I encounter 1080p and 60Hz before then.

Weirdly I was the same with initial out of the box experience. I've gone from a setup of 2 Samsung LEDs (23" 1080p) and they were very good monitors at the time, and was expecting it to blow them away straight out. But more I played with the settings and had it sitting in front of me for various tasks it's great. I'm also using one of the old 1080p as a second screen still, so the comparison is ongoing!

That's a good price, I paid £449 delivered which I thought was fine. I am not sure I could have got anything significantly better for the price right now.

A few further thoughts, I viewed some hi resolution photos I’d taken and I was very impressed with the level of detail and sharpness, the colour is a bit to red but I can adjust for that but this screen really made the photo come to life.
Gaming, world of tanks and warships look very good, Two Point Hospital is sublime and even though I’m very much a novice DCS looks and feels great too.
It’s been a while since I’ve had a driving game so I downloaded Project Cars 2 Wow!! Simply stunning.
This monitor is definitely growing on me I just need a more time to dial in the settings how I want them and to get used to the size of it and I think all will be well, will it last 10 years like the LG it has replaced?

I've got a 15Gb update for CODMW to download, will try it on that later! Only tried it on DCS World so far, and love it. But obviously not a stress test for it.

I need to try out photo and video editing, that's what I'll be doing a lot of. Colours do look really really good at the moment.
