Well, I just just recieved and install a scythe ninja cooler, and i still have same or similiar temps,

idle at about 42 c !

same temps I have with the zalman 9500at,. maybe 1 or 2 c off !

I aint a happy bunny, i just dont know why its like this !

could proly only be core temp not working or a concave cpu.,

im sick of it 60 quid worth of coolers so far and I get same temps, its not even overclocked yet !

oh and btw, its a E6300 c2d

what should I do ?

:(

thx

Some CPUs just run hot and not much you can do about it.

Download the latest beta version of Everest Ultimate and post a screenshot so we can see all the temps it reports.

Is it overclocked or not? You say no, your sig say's yes, you can try lowering the Vcore, might help.

Ah sorry, my sig hasnt been updated, ive had to take it back down to stock cause of the temps..

I will get everest now and get some screenies up

The case ventilation.., well i have a PC7, with the two 120mm fans that come with it running, I have also removed the grills that each of the fans have, and that improves air flow loads...

oh and i use As5 for paste

Thanks for the replies, will get back here in abit

VID in core temp 0.95 is 1.3250v

screenshot for everest coming soon, my internet is bugering up too

Also you might just have a naturally hot running CPU.

I know I have.

My E6600 sits at 42-44C idle, and its lapped, so is the Ninja i'm using, its got AS5 on it, and no matter how many times I reseat it its exactly the same.

Plus its in an Akasa Elcipse 62 with acres of space and airflow round it.

Its just a damn hot chip and nothing I do can remidy that!

Still, it doesn't effect the chip whatsoever, it still clocks like a goodun, it just runs warm.

Those temps are fine for idle so I'd say it looks set to go for overlocking. The default vcore of 1.325v will be causing the 40c idle temps rather than your setup or the CPU IHS/contact with the cores. It's likely it'll have a fair bit of overclocking headroom before you need to increase the vcore so give it a try and see how far you can go without increasing vcore and post back here with your results. ;)

1.325V for stock speeds is high, you can get some, not all at that volt to 3 GHZ
i used to put 1.22V on my e6300 at stock speed, temps idle 28c stock cooler

I got the same cooler and my E6300 @ 2.4 is 28c idel and 35c load
i dropped my volts to 1.05.

by dropping the volts you will cool it..

How are you applying your arctic silver? if you are doing a thin line down the middle and getting high temps try a surface area application thin layer and a small blob in the middle on top of that then seat it.

I applied a thin line down the middle, might have been abit much, but i though it would be ok after seeing a guide on how to apply on dual cores.

I done a thin layer and spread over the whole cpu when I had the 9500at on it and it didnt improve temps...

so I dunno there... I will give it ago again over the weekend, had a busy day today.

Im not sure what VID intel gave me, I think Im going to go set the bios back to defaults and see what happens, cause it still have overclocking settings in there, but its just at stock fsb speeds

and as far as im aware, I never messed with vcore, I did once but took it straight back down..

it was so far back I cant remember if I might have followed a guide that said to set the vcore to 1.325

I will report back after resetting bios to defaults..

EDIT: Ok, back and still the same, the VID is also still 1.325, seems thats the standard setting ?

Whats reccomended to go forward now ?
