Hi all,

Got a preowned ps3 today, and have a few queries regarding the general condition of it -

The Warranty stickers show faint void on them, and the top cover moves side to side a few mm.

Is this correct? If not I shall be taking it back for a refund tomorrow :(

Thanks

save up a few more penny's and get a new slim. will be worth it!

or try out the members market on here, you get some decent deals and probably the best place to buy anything second hand from.

yes i agree get the slim and save on that leccy bill

I imagine it would be in the region of £80-100 more for a new slim rather than a 2nd hand original. How much would he have to use his PS3 to eventually save back the additional cost?

I say, don't worry about the odd pence on the electricity bill, and just get your very used PS3 swapped for a less used one:)

Out of interest mate, what gives that one away or is it just the movable parts etc?

Cheers

Just that there is no reason to open it otherwise, there is the remote possibility that a disc got stuck in the BD drive but unlikely, I would be worried that the cover is loose as well, shows they didn't do a thorough job !

edit: e.g: my carefully handled YLOD repaired PS3 just died again after seven or eight weeks working fine, ditch it and invest in a slim.

Interesting - has anyone here ever had a BD stuck for no reason? i.e. the PS3 works fine in every other aspect but won't physically accept/eject discs? (Discounting not reading a disc.)

Kinda disturbing replies there from some of you guys!! I shall just return it and say me and my brother aren't happy with the condition of it. They give you 28 days but I'd rather return it the day after paying for it!

ive had mine refuse to accept a disc although upon furthur inspection i found out my 2 yr old had put the card from the virgin box in the slot drive - got to love children and there ability to get every where you dont want them too,

luckily after a few failed inputs it managed to accept a disc and when i ejected it the tiniest bit of the card came out and the tweezers did the rest.

Definatly take it back!

Well known trick tbh. Fix it so it works when plugged in, then trade it in for a slim.
You might not be the first ones to notice that ;)

They refunded me no questions asked, I just said that we werent happy with the condition of it and the fact that the lid etc moves!
