I recently bought a Samsung 19"(due to desktop space) WS HD TV with resolution 1440x900 with a £300 price tag, to replace my lcd monitor which i used a res of 1280x1024 on.

I soon realized i don't watch tv...:confused: unless its youtube and further realized that the resolution quality is worse than my original screen, when playing crysis it definitley shows.

I should have done research on screens before buying one which just looked nice.

I have a fairly good spec pc, q6600cpu, 8800gtx gpu which i think would be able to handle resolutions of... 1920x1200.

I have read the buyers guide and before i make the same mistake again i wanted to ask you.

I don't want to spend a lot more on a screen and i think my
budget should be £300(more than my weeks wages) as thats what i bought my previous hdtv 19" samsung for...just a few months ago
I want a high resolution e.g 1920x1200 so i have atleast improved from my older 1024x1280.

And lastly 24" max to fit on my desktop.

Tinny sound is not an issue i use my headphones for gaming and speakers for movies etc.

What screen would you recommend?

What should i do with the screen i already bought a few months (maybe upto 6months) ago? it cost £300 and its a 19" hdtv with freeview 1440x900 res. It actually still has some wrapping on the screen no dead pixels etc.. i guess it can't be taken back now.

LCD TVs have huge amount of internal processing for removing defects ranging from those caused by analog signal to digital compression artefacts and such so in computer use that could definitely cause problems.

Do you need good viewing angles?
(you don't get completely even picture from TN even when looked straight on)

If you're short on desk space Lenovo L220x would give 1920x1200 in 22" size.

I saw this one, what do you think? ratio dynamic 20,000:1? 160' view angle. I do often sit back whilst watching movies.

Im so close to ordering one :D

TheRedZealot 28" is too big 24" is the max.
The Ocuk one looks pretty good.

if you can get 1920x1200 on a 22" Lenovo L220x doesn't this mean your going to get better quality better hd? (more pixels in a smaller space)

Oh and im trying to sell the old samsung for £160 to my sister, she'll only watch tv on it anyway. isn't 1440x900 the lowest form of hd?

I think after buying one my next thing maybe later is get a blu-ray/hd dvd drive :), i have 3 sata drives, one dvd and one ide drive, cable clutter :o, i wish i was good at a organizing cables in my machine.
