Hi all

Well ive joined the X360 club though not X-live 

I got

GOW
Viva Piñatas or something (gf chose it)
Smack down raw 2007 (I think)
PG3
Some Arcade thing (I think is online)

And an extra wireless pad 

Only played that Viva game so far quite addictive already, GOW is my next target when I get a chance to play it :D

My only concern is the x360 aimed at online entertainment but the misuses doesn’t have an internet connection down stairs and its what £40 per year?? I’ve not fully looked into this yet as I’ve only owned this console for about 6 hours.

Hmm when you say £5 a month thats not bad. But is it worth it?

When i had the xbox i had live for about a year.. and never toutched it atall, and didnt seem worth keeping i guess mainly as i hardly ever played the xbox due to the fact i had my PC , but now that the console is at the missues house i might play it more. I cant really see myself apart from downloading new content i don't think ill play much online.

Congrats on the Xbox 360. You may now bid your social life and girlfriend goodbye as you become totally addicted to it.

I've had mine for three weeks, and have been totally hooked on Project Gotham Racing 3, which I am not far off completing.

There are so many games to look forward to playing, for me these include ;

R6 Vegas
TDU
Colin Mcrae:Dirt
Forza

Xbox live really does add an extra dimension to the gaming experience. A friend is on Live, and whenever I go to his house, I always have a bash on TDU on live.

I also invested in a HDTV to help me get the most out of my 'box. Text and graphics are so much clearer.

Yeah i know that an online connection is a good thing to have, well me and the missues play a lot together she likes her rpgs and i like my fps and racing games. and ofc the classic lego starwars :D ill have to try and convince her to get xlive also another thing how to get it online as the console is quite far away from any router connection :P (she does have a net connection @ home) but as stated its quite far away.

What items / Games would any of you reccomend getting?

I know that new battery pack thing was launched so thinking of getting that and Oblivion next as we will both like that.

If you never had a XB, then I'd recomend getting Halo and Halo2. I had them for ages, but never really had time to play them until this last week - both cracking games, but prefered the ending to the 1st (the 2nd just seems to end all of a sudden with no climax - bit like my bird then :D ).

Haha :D If you get Halo 2, definitely get Xbox live then.

Aye. They give a month away with the Core as well. (You can still game online with a memory card).

Yes you still get live with a core system.
I bought a core at launch when you could not get a premium and bought a hard drive later.
You still get a month free on gold even with a core system.

You're literally missing most of the experience if you're not on xbox live (IMO). It is infact so good, that if it cost £100 a year, I'd pay it.

Personally I'd advise against live. I got a month free and (I have a voucer for a further month free too) and I found it to be pretty rubbish. The service is good but I found the majority of the community to be unfriendly and childish. I personally wouldn't pay £28 a year for it. By all means try it but I think you'll find it to be a waste of money.

SHHHH! don't let MS hear you say that!

Seriously though, I do think live is worth the 30 - 40 per year.
