Hey guys,

I just bought the "Avexir Core Blue Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (AVD3U16000904G-2CW) - Blue Light" I installed it perfectly. The lights come on etc when I turn on my PC but it doesn't get past the motherboard splash screen where everything is frozen so I can't even enter the BIOS. It's 100% compatible/same voltage so i'm a bit confused why it won't work? I've tried using different slots etc still the same. I tried one of the sticks to see if it works. It gets passed the splash screen but it just blue screens on the windows logo... My last resort is that it's faulty? which I really hope not. Would love any advice or any solutions please!!!

Some specs if that would help you:
Motherboard: ASusTeK P7H55
CPU: Intel i5 650 3.20GHz
Memory(Current): Kingston 4GB 1333Mhz
GFX: Nvidea GTX 295
Powersupply: CoolerMaster 1000w

I could be faulty yes, try one stick at a time and see if it boots. Failing that, clear the CMOS using the jumper or remove the battery for 5 minutes with the power cord out of the PSU.

Thanks for your reply, I've tried one stick at a time. Like I said it gets passed the splash screen but then on the windows logo it just blue screens for 1 second and then restarts my PC. I will try clear the CMOS again for 5 minutes like you said.

What voltage is your Kingston?

The Avexir has an SPD profile with settings for 1333MHz, so it should work fine right away.

What BIOS version is your motherboard running? It should say something like "0901" when booting. Also are you installing the Avexir memory in the same colour ram slots? You'll want both modules in the lighter colour slots ideally.

Well i'm using my previous RAM which works as i'm online now :P and yeah I used the colored one's because they're for dual channel etc. Both of the voltages are 1.5v so it shouldn't be a problem. Bios version is 1202

Check CPU-Z and see what timings and speeds the Kingston is running at.

Could you link to the manufacturers page for your board, the only one I've found has a latest BIOS version of 0901. Edit: Is it the USB3 version: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P7H55USB3/#overview ?

It sounds like more of an incompatibility than anything else.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes it's the USB3 Version - the exact one you linked infact. The timing for my old ram are below. The timing's are the same for my new RAM also so

I'm currently running Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit and currently Service pack 1

I'll try that wazza300 now, thanks for the help will update asap

Did you clear the CMOS after fitting the ram? if not see mobo manual and load optimized defaults and see what happens.

I'd update the BIOS then, you are not on the latest. Once updated, shut down, clear it using the battery or jumper again and then load optimized defaults. Then shutdown, swap the ram over and see if that sorts it.

You could also try the Mem OK! button which is next to the 24-Pin ATX power connector on the board, there is a page on it in the manual which explains its use (1-19).

Updated BIOS, Done exactly as you said. I also tried the Mem OK! button following the instructions from the manual and still the same result. It must be faulty... I honestly don't know what else it could be!!!

Sounds very much like it, that or some sort of incompatibility. Can you actually enter the BIOS now? Or is it still the same as before? Upping the voltage would be my only suggestion.

Honest if I was in your position, I'd order another set from a different manufacturer, something like Corsair or Crucial.

Nope, Can't access the BIOS for my new RAM. Only my old :/ Yeah think i'm going to send them back :( The LED's are so cool aswell

I'd suggest sending it back under the DSRs if it's been less than 7 working days from the day after it arrived. Otherwise you might be charged a testing fee if no fault is found.
