Bouncers in Leeds

I hardly ever get turned down from getting in at a bar/club, and when I do it's because I'm too drunk. People get turned away because they don't look right for the club, don't answer the questions competently or just give off a bad vibe. It's nothing to do with the bouncer if you can't get in.

I guess the Northface branding was to do with logo policy. I know that some clubs don't like sports logos and especially football teams.

What's this business with buying a table though? Is it a place that you can reserve for yourself and friends, bit like booking your own spot at a restaurant? I've clubbed from 1999, stopped in 2009 (not out of choice though.. lack of money!) and I've never come across table booking. That's 10-odd clubs in Bristol, another 10 in Birmingham, a few in Manchester, Wolves, Glasgow, a few outdoor events, Tidy Weekender etc. Yeah I'm more of a dance kid.

Never had a problem with a bouncer personally.

One bouncer I never liked was Bernard, this massive bouncer at the Box in Headingley. He was definitely on a power trip and sometimes he would just say.. "sorry not tonight mate" and not even share a reason.

Agree with this but Leeds is totally crazy this thread shows, never known such a policy, more lads go out than girls so not letting lads in with cash to spend is retarded

Ive never had a problem with Bernard, hes sound, even when I have been very drunk

Reminds me of the actor Ving Rhames

I was out last night, dressed quite smart as I had been to work. Trying to get in on Call lane with one friend (male) and the bouncers would not let us in "not tonight lads, mixed groups only" we found six girls and asked if we could go in with them, they agreed. The girls got in but we didnt and were told "you arnt just allowed to find girls to go in with" !

Whats the beef with bouncers in Leeds, or is it down to management?

Its been like this for years in Leeds on Call lane And a few other places like greek street

Other cities seem fine, newcastle, manchester, liverpool and even london the bouncers are all safe. Does Leeds just get the left-overs that are on a power trip or something?

I hope everyone takes note of this if they are thinking of a night out in leeds. Like not long ago, a group of us went out, 10 guys and about 4 girls, couldnt get in certain places but the girls could (but didnt) serious money lost as we could have spent a good £20 each in a short space of time

Don't worry about it mate. Bars down Call Lane on a Friday and Saturday night are a nightmare to get into when out with the lads, particularly Jakes Bar. Shame, good bit of shirt always kicking around in there ;)

Can't be bothered with city centre these days for these reasons so tend to stick to Headingley.

No issues at all on Saturday night apart from "No hooded tops inside lads" to one of our crowd so he took it off and in we went.

Was same in sheffield other weekend....said there is to many lads in a place so we couldnt go in. There was only 7 of us and 3 of them was lasses
