This is my current (now antique) setup:

Antec Sonata III Piano Black Quiet Case - EarthWatts 500W PSU
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
G.Skill 4GB DDR2 PQ PC2-6400C5 (2x2GB) CAS5 Dual Channel Kit
Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz
Samsung SpinPoint F1 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache
Gigabyte GeForce 8600 GT Silent Zalman 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775)

I have no real budget. Can you guys just point me towards a decent combination. Perhaps socket 2011 based? or enlighten as to why you think something else would be better?

Also is anything salvageable? apart from the case? prob not...

Thanks x

normal use browsing etc.

But also im a dj i use a traktor s2 controller. The software is pretty cpu intensive.

I dont really play games i have an xbox for that.

Cheers

No, im sure with a fresh os install the pc would suffice for another couple of years. But i fancy an upgrade as the next traktor software will prob be too much for it.

Im gunna give the old bits to my mum her 2001 amd athlon setup is begging to be replaced, even if she does only use it to check email.(after giving it 15 mins to turn on lol)
