Probably sounds nuts to most of you and there probably is a simple answer but i'm always lost on where to find boxes to send items in. For instance my GPU is faulty and will probably end up needing to send it back but i do not have a single outer box that the GPU box would fit in. i Also come across this problem when selling stuff on the bay.

I find my self keeping boxes from when i do order online but they are never suitable sizes for stuff i'm sending back or selling.

What do you guys do for sending stuff? I'm totally lost on where to get a box from lol

I have some boxes which may be of interest to you. I don't have a photo and won't until tomorrow, they're RS calibration boxes. We use them to send off stuff to RS for calibration, so they're designed to keep very sensitive equipment safe. They're all the same size and would be perfect for a GPU provided it's in an anti-static bag. They really hug whatever's in them with foam and can take quite a beating.

I've got about 20 of them which I have no need for. You can have them if you want them, I can post a photo tomorrow.

Tell a lie, you can see the exact boxes in action at 2:15 in this vid:

They're obviously fairly large although they weigh nothing. If you want I can arrange to drop them off or you can collect them, up to you.

Otherwise they're probably going to go in the bin.

Go to your local Home Bargains / Wilko, they have boxes flat packed that you can buy in (small, medium, large), much cheaper than post office prices. Even better, just ask any super market / shop employee for a few boxes from the back warehouse.

Ask for some at back of homebase etc/supermarkets. They always have them.

Used to work at the range, always giving loads away at the warehouse round the back.

Thanks for the offer, i think i'll try couple of these other options first. got a Homebase and B&Q just up the road. Thats some safe packaging though lol!

Thanks for the ideas guys, i'll have drive tomorrow around couple home/supermarket stores.

I ship beer but I also receive and buy beer so always have (to my Wife's displeasure) a good selection of 20+ boxes lying around.

If you or someone you know works in an office, paper boxes are good. Otherwise as said, supermarkets usually have all sizes of boxes lying around.

I just re-use the ones from orders that I've placed although the offer half is getting fed up of the collection of boxes I seemed to have acquired.

Wilkos/Home Bargins etc as mentioned above is a good shout or if you go to your local supermarket and ask they usually have a load they can give you for free.

No worries, good luck :)

If anyone else has any use for these boxes please let me know as it's a shame to throw them away as they are very handy boxes.

Our Morrisons supermarket usually have loads of empty boxes in the walkway behind the checkouts for people to take. Have look if your local store does the same.

I usually just fabricate my own boxes out of other boxes i have lying round if they are too big/too small!

This. A big box can end up almost any size or shape up to, and including, it's original. Small boxes need to be planted in the ground for a while before they grow up into big boy boxes.
