Hi

I am looking to box my Valiant Ecotec Pro 24 in when I redo my kitchen. The manual simply talks about the cabinet being compliant with BS 6891 and does not state how much room should be left round the boiler (or if the cabinet needs a top etc). I can't find a 'free' copy of BS 6891 anywhere on the web so does anyone know what the regs might be?

FWIW my plan is to box it into the top half of a floor-to-about 2.2m H, 60cm W, 64cm D cupboard... put the boiler at the top and have shelving or something in the remaining part.

Thanks for any advice!

Thanks! It looks like there are 2 manuals and I don't have the installation one. A quick Google found it and I have the answer :)

When it talks about 500mm in front of the boiler, I take it that means 500mm when the door is open, not 500mm in front of it when the door is closed... i.e. I can box it into a standard size cupboard? (Around 60Dx60W?)

Thanks...

Yes you can. When I had my kitchen done I had the planner measure the boiler and provide a door/frame to put it in. The top is open, but it looks like a normal (albeit slightly bigger) cupboard, the pic below is just missing the matching door of the units.
