Just had gas central heating installed and have these pipes on show in my dining room.

What is the best way to box them in. I will get at some point a plasterer to plaster them.

Thanks

Fix a couple of small battens to the wall either side and use machine cut lengths of 18mm mdf screwed in, sink the screws in and fill the heads, use small tacks to fix both corners of the mdf to each other, sand down well and paint. No need too plaster tbh

Cheers guys. I thought it would need plastering over as close to the wall. But the MDF should do the job I would have though.

Will get it done soon.

Can tell you are in touch with your feminine side tiptop lol

op, Yeah box them in. MDF will soak in the paint though, Most joiners use ply wood for boxing.

Upto yourself of course :)

Why didn't the installers put them behind the current plaster board?

Looks like a solid wall to me.

We used softwood battens and some old lengths of wood we had as scrap. Job done.

We have the same thing in our lounge only covers in a wooden box that was wallpapers and painted white. Didnt even realise it was there until we just had the boiler replaced and the plumber ripped it odd the wall damaged the paper.
