Looking to goto the centre of Bracknell and just after travel advice. Traveling (from m1) on a sunday and wondering;

M25 > M4 > A329

or

M25 > M3 > A322

You should be ok with the M4, it isn't generally that bad. The worst part will be the M25 and normally it is the section between the M40(J16) and the A3(J10) which is the worst so if you decide to go M3 you will fall into that section more than if you got off at the M4(J15). The less time you can spend on the M25, the better.

Luton to Reading on a Sunday morning/afternoon (before about 3pm, though it's normally just busy after that, rather than actually slow) is normally fine going M1-M25-M4. And that's based on trips before they fixed the M1. So if I were you I'd do the M4 route.

Used to do the M25 > M4 > A329 regularly when I worked in Winnersh, for me personally, get off the M25 ASAP.

Go via aylesbury mate avoid the M25 altogether

IF it was me driving I would however the its the misses now although she doesnt like/not experienced at motorway driving (I norm do all driving all she does is local) she hates going through towns/routes she has been before so :(

I'd probably take the M3, you have to go a good way down the M4 (Reading) to get to Bracknell whereas it's only a few junctions on the M3. The time between the M4 and the M3 on the M25 is only about 10 minutes on a good day.

A few junctions down a normally empty M4 or a few junctions down a generally slow/standstill M25. I know which I'd rather choose.

The M25 isn't going to be very busy on a Sunday, I make the very same journey from the M4 to junction 13 on the M25 (a few minutes before the M3 junction) quite often and even on normal weekdays it's not normally that bad. The M4 is often worse - I live at junction 7 which would be on the OP's route and I know it well. Then you have Reading traffic and the A329(M) to deal with rather than the quiet A322.

The M25 is usually horrendous on a Sunday because commuters are going back to work as well as the Sunday drivers are out.

Is it? Do you use it often on a Sunday then? I do - most of my friends live in Staines/Egham and I live between Maidenhead and Slough and make this exact journey fairly often and it never seems that bad. I used to live between the M4 and M3 and work in Bracknell (Cable and Wireless - Western Industrial area) and it was a lot quicker going via the M3. The only slow bit was the A329 which I had to get on for a mile or so.
