In acme's chair.
I bought one bitfenix alchemy white braided cable as i needed to extend my CPU power cable, and the alchemy one was only 2 quid more.

The quality of the cable is superb! And it makes me want to do my entire system with them, and when i get the funds i'm sure i will :D

But using these cables does conjure up a problem... How do you keep all those lengths of cable under control? It has to be a job and a half, so you should be proud of your effort :D

Post your pictures of your cable management jobs, with a particular focus on those with the cable extensions. Pictures of the back as well as the front :p

Would be nice to see how many people approach it carefully and tidily, and how many people have a nest of slightly crushed cables  mine is somewhere in between :p

The inside of the main rig :D

The back of the main rig, notice my slightly shoddy nest of cables down the bottom, and all that unused space

The altogether less interesting insides of the server/cruncher :o

I'm messy, no one ever sees the back so who cares

I did have braided cables for the GFX card but it just gets harder to put the back on the case, the more I have in there.

Very nice indeed, are you getting the loop back in the rvo2 or are you going to stick to air cooling? I suppose it would be tricky to fit a loop in there... Why the case swap may i ask?

*edit* wait... is that a megahalems with no fans? :p

I plan on watercooling it with a 3 x 180mm rad after saving up for a retina macbook pro :)

I've always loved the rv02, and the r3 was getting a bit cramped

yes. yes it is a passive megahalems :D

what CPU do you have under the megahalems? And what temps can you get with no fans?

slight tangent hehe, but im sure it doesn't matter too much.

I have a 3570k at stock under it, it reaches around 70 degrees in dayz, but it doesn't help that I don't have much thermal paste on it

edit - sorry, the 3570k is actually overclocked to 4.2ghz, I didn't realise that xmp was actually overclocking my cpu, and not just letting me run my ram at 1600mhz :p

thats pretty good actually, just... Remember to lay off the stress testing :p

A big fan of Orange as you know mate and I do like it but I had to comment on the hard drive. Super out of the way placement there. Don't think I've seen a mechanical just shoved behind stuff like that. Nice work.

And orange SATA cables would look super.

Oh and the Blue light on the front of the RV02, that should be easy enough to change?

Thanks tealc :p there was nowhere else to put the drive where it'd be out of the way :p

these two are things on my to do list, only problem is, I'm trying to save up some money to get a macbook for school, but after that I want to do many things with my rig including watercooling it, braiding all of the cables and changing the leds to orange :)

The back of mine is a mess! :P no one ever sees it though and i'll get a picture of it when i have some free time but from the viewing side..

An alturnative way to hide your cables (if you have an older case)
I used a cut down 120.3 rad grill with blue perspex under it.
Will try and get an updated one, now that the loop is up and running again

Very impressive, consider me jealous :p

How did you take those pictures? What camera did you use..? And what backdrop/lighting? Looks very professional

Thanks :) I get asked about the lighting quite a lot and its nothing fancy im not photographer haha.

I put the case up on my desk and used my £120 camera or something i brought a few years ago ( Sony DSC-W320 14.1 megapixels) My window shines light in from behind me so directly into where im taking the pictures and i just found a nice shot and took it without flash then resized in photoshop. No backdrop or anything.

Which extensions did you go for in the end?

Has anyone got any blue extensions i would like to have a look at them for to see what would suit in my rig...

You did a custom loop on your first full build..? Awesome :p I didnt have the guts to do that...

It looks nice, very nice :) Pretty much what i wish my system looked like inside.

Thanks. I am proud of it

I spent a lot of time planning it. Read every instruction book online before I even ordered the parts. I suppose it was worth it tho. Everything went together a dream.
