Do they plug straight into the PSU, or do they act as an extension for the stock cable ??

They replace the cables that come with the psu. Make sure you get the correct cables for your psu because using the wrong cables will be a expensive mistake.

Personally I think these replacement cables are way overpriced, often costing as much, or even more than the psu itself. Cable extensions are massively cheaper and look just as good as long as you have the space to hide the extra cable length.
