Braiding a PSU?

I was thinking of braiding my PSU, I've seen a couple of others on here do it in the past. And I mean the cables from the PSU, not just adding extensions to the cables already included. I.e the 24pin cable coming from my HX650.

Where can I buy some nice white or black braiding from? And also, when I take all of the individual cables out of the 24pin block, do they have to be put back in exactly where they were taken out of? I know that you can't just put them any old where, just wondering if it matters which way they go around. For example, say there are two yellow cables in a 24pin, does it matter which way round I put them in, as long as there is a yellow cable back in the original place?

Not sure I can post a link because technically its a competitor retailer as they also sell hardware, but I have just ordered some this week from a well known online place who sell a lot of case mods etc. Just google PC case mods and go from there.

Dont know the answer to the second part im afraid, but I wouldnt want to take any risks, no matter how small, if it was me.

MDPC-X are the best place for braiding - it's expensive, but looks brilliant. As for the second question, all the 'yellow wires' are electrically the same - they're all straight off the +12V rail, so can be plugged in anywhere where there was a yellow wire before. This can allow you to rearrange the cables so they're straight.

BDEE, are you refering to Tom's shop, in Wales? Thanks for clearing that up Marvin! I take it that applies to all of the cables in the 24pin. :)

To be on the safe side I'd put the wires back in the exact same holes they came out of.

A lot of people unplug everything from one end, mark up the wires, sleeve then insert back into the plug, but I think that's just asking for trouble when you could just unplug, sleeve and replug a cable at a time.

As you have a modular PSU, ask Corsair if you can get a spare set of PSU cables and sleeve them, that way you still have the original set you can use if you need to make good on the warranty. The 24pin power however is not modular. Corsair do say though that you don't invalidate the warranty on the PSU by sleeving the modular cables, however any changes to hardwired cables WILL void the warranty

I can only see black sleeving at MDPC. I'm trying to remember the name of Tom's shop, but it's been so long since I visited there I've forgotten it entirely!

*edit* Just found his site.

Our local expert here on braiding seems to be "piggin" who's thread (together with plenty of braiding pictures) can be found at http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18184017&page=9

If you haven't already contacted him, I am sure he will be only too pleased to help, as he is a really super chap! :)
