I bought some new spacers for my car and set about fitting them today, only to discover that they didn't have a cut out for the wheel locating peg. This peg sticks out about 15mm and locates into a special recess on the wheel, but is also the bolt that holds the disc to the hub.
Now as far as I can tell this is only to hold the disc in place when the wheel is off as it is very small and is only done up to 10nm, once the wheel is on then the disc is obviously held firmly in place by the wheel and wheel nuts.
Is there any reason that I shouldn't run the car without this locating bolt?
