Brake pads and disks changed, now EBA doesn't seem to be working?

I recently had the brake pads and disks changed on my C2, pads were squeeking and worn, the disks were corroded. Before the changes, if I hit the brakes hard and suddenly, the car would stand on it's nose practically, because of the Emergency Brake Assist system on the C2.

After the changes, the EBA system doesn't seem to kick in at all, there's just a 'pfft' noise from the servo, which was also there prior. While the car still stops quickly, it's nowhere near as sharp as before.

Could this just be down to the disks and pads being new, or should I be looking at something else? I've taken it bask the the garage the work was done at, but they are saying it's all ok.

Pike: No warning lights at all.
Dogbreath: Done about 200 miles since the change, mostly motorway. The only reason I'm mentioning the EBA is because it seems so markedly different to it's previous behaviour with the old pads and disks. The ABS works, tried that yesterday in the wet.
 
I assume EBA is emergency brake assistence, but what does it actually do?

I believe it somehow detects when you are performing an emergency stop and applies maximum braking force, akin to standing on the pedal.

When I had the Toledo it nearly put me through the windscreen a few times.

Spot on. I've nearly bitten the dashboard a coule of times prior to pads and disks being changed, but now seems a bit less than fierce, hence the posting.
 
Did you fit a new set of original disk and pads or use a different brand ? I would guess the new disks and pads are not as good as the old ones. It could also take longer for new disks/pads to bed in since the 200miles have mainly been on the motorway which will involve little braking.
